Solarize the Triad Events to Date

Over the duration of the program, the Solarize the Triad Education and Outreach team has collaborated with installer Renu Energy Solutions, coalition members (listed below), and community partners to organize various events throughout the Piedmont region. These events feature in-person presentations, webinars, and participation in community tabling activities. Below is an updated list of events.

Solarize the Triad is a community-based group-purchasing program for solar energy and battery storage aimed to help homeowners, nonprofits, and business owners save on the cost of renewable energy systems through volume discounts.

Launch event (July 23rd, 2024):

The Solarize the Triad launch marked the first event of the campaign. Held at Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, the event had over 100 attendees, all excited to talk about clean energy in the Triad region. The event had multiple guest speakers, including Second Harvest CEO Eric Afton, Representative Kanika Brown, representatives from Renu Energy Solutions, Mayor Pro Tempor Denise Adams, and a virtual message from Winston-Salem's Mayor Adam Joines.

Making Sense of Solar Greensboro (August 14, 2024)

A Greensboro based event for Solarize the Triad for Glenwood residents and community members. Speakers from Solar CrowdSource and Renu Energy Solutions presented information about our bulk purchasing program. See images from the event below.

Solarize 101 Virtual Info Session (August 27, 2024)

An online webinar focusing on Solarize the Triad's group purchasing program, the benefits of solar energy, and financing options available to participants. Presenters included Renu Energy Solutions, the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association, and Solar CrowdSource. Click here the view the full recording.


Green Career Expo (September 19, 2024)

The Green Career Expo was hosted by Piedmont Environmental Alliance on September 19, 2024, welcoming more than 150 attendees and 14 green job exhibitors. Solarize the Triad presented our workforce development work alongside Goler Community Development Corporation's Tech Career Program and Renu Energy Solutions.

NC Climate Week (September 30, 2024)

Held from November 30th to October 4th, EarthShare NC hosted NC Climate Week. Consisting of in-person events, online workshops, and a final summit, NC Climate Week was created to aid individuals, businesses, and organizations of all sizes, with information and tools to address high impact, low barrier opportunities for climate solutions. Solar CrowdSource hosted a seminar titled "Home Solar: Why Now is the Time to Act". View the event page here.

 

Financing Solar Webinar (October 2, 2024)

An in-depth look into financing solar and battery storage options available through Solarize the Triad. Speakers include Renu Energy Solutions, the North Carolina Clean Energy Fund, Piedmont Federal Bank, and Solar Crowdsource. UNC Greensboro Virtual Webinar (October 11, 2024)

Ardmore United Methodist Church Solar Info Session (October 21, 2024)

A Solarize the Triad event held in partnership with Renu Energy Solutions, Ardmore United Methodist Church, Parkway United Church of Christ, Parkway United Church of Christ, and Temple Emanuel of Winston-Salem. Open to members of the faith community and residents to learn about our group purchasing program.
