Congratulations to the Glenn Family!

A drawing was recently held among the first 20 grant recipients of the 2019 campaign for a bonus grant to help buy down the upfront cost of solar for one lucky winner. Allen Glenn and family were awarded a second grant of $3,530!  In addition to their previous grant of $2,750, the Glenns received grants totaling 40% of the cost of their system.

"We so very much appreciate the generous support from Solarize St John and the financial assistance with our solar installation, especially after the significant damages to our house and  solar panels by Hurricane Irma. This assistance has allowed us to recover more quickly and resume net metering.  It is very satisfying to use solar power instead of fossil fuels, knowing that we are not contributing to global warming by using our abundant sunshine to create power. We are grateful and honored for your support of us and others in making St John greener and more resilient.  Thank you Solarize St John!"

Sincerely,
Lawrence Allen Glenn and family

Solarize St. John, in conjunction with Island Green Living Association and a generous donation from a St. John solar power advocate has awarded 20 residential grants totalling $55,000 so far. These grants, in turn, have sparked $438,000 in new solar energy and battery storage development -- an 8:1 ratio!

Stay tuned for additional grant opportunities coming up for 2020! Go to Solarize St. John for more information and sign up to qualify.

At its core, Solarize St. John is a communitywide way to collaborate with others in purchasing solar energy and battery storage equipment in bulk, thereby reducing everyone's costs and making it easy to utilize this renewable energy.
