With less than two months remaining to sign up for a free assessment, Solarize the Triangle – the community-based group-buying program developed by 11 local governments in the Region – has reached another milestone in its unique pricing tiers.

Based on commitments from homeowners to add new renewable energy systems to their properties, the more residents and business owners who contract for solar installations through the Solarize program, the more savings accrue for all participants.

Free Signup Deadline is Oct. 31; Coalition Also Advances New Income-Qualified Program

Oct. 31 is the deadline for local residents and commercial building owners to enroll for a free evaluation under the Solarize Kansas City campaign, which offers group purchasing on solar energy and battery storage to all Kansas City-metro area residents and businesses.

Since May, more than 575 residents have enrolled for an evaluation to advance toward potentially owning a system through this community discount program.

Solarize OKC Exceeds 800kW Milestone With 100+ Contracts for Solar Installations from Local Homeowners

Free Financing Workshop Set for Sept. 27 to Feature Update on Increased Federal Tax Credit; Solarize Open House Set for Sept. 24

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Solarize OKC campaign reached another new milestone – more than three-quarters of a megawatt of solar power installations under contract through the community group-buying program. 

Since the campaign’s launch in May, more than 100 homeowners have completed contracts, which will result in new clean energy solar capacity  of more than 850 in total kW of solar power. Once these systems are fully installed and operational, more than 1.47 million lbs. of carbon emissions will be avoided annually in Oklahoma City. This is the equivalent of 250 full size pickup trucks worth of greenhouse emissions taken out of the air.

The campaign offers an opportunity to install solar energy infrastructure at your home or business. By buying solar and battery storage along with others in the community, you’ll tap the combined purchasing power of other Forsyth residents as well as take advantage of a federal tax credit further lowering the cost of your system’s purchase.

A special local launch event will take place at United Way - Forsyth County on Thursday, July 14th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at 240 Elm St. in Cumming.

Solarize the Triangle to Bring Affordable, Renewable Energy  to the Community Via Group-Purchase Campaign; Seeks Solar Contractor Bids

A newly formed local government partnership, the Triangle Sustainability Partnership, is seeking bids from solar contractors for a regional, regionwide community-based group-purchasing program launching this summer to provide clean-energy options to local residents, businesses and non-profit organizations in 11 Triangle communities.

The Triangle Sustainability Partnership has issued a Request for Proposals to welcome area solar-energy design and installation companies to participate in the Solarize the Triangle program. The deadline for bidders to respond is July 15. The full Request for Proposals document is available here.
